Strong line-up for Hawke Cup defence

Take a look at Hamilton's lineup for their second defence of the Hawke Cup for the season and one thing seems immediately apparent – that it couldn't get much stronger could it?
It could have but challengers Wairarapa have escaped the unenviable task of confronting Black Cap Daniel Vettori, who was set to play in the three-day fixture starting today before realising he had a wedding to attend this weekend. Even without the champion all-rounder, Hamilton will boast five Northern Districts contracted players, four others with at least one first-class match to their name, as well as New Zealand test wicketkeeper BJ Watling behind the stumps who will bat at No6.
The other two in Hamilton's 12-man squad are Northern Districts A captain and all-rounder Michael Dodunski and the technically consummate left-handed batsman Andrew Dodd.
