"Our man Dan" has been a busy bee travelling between the HRV Cup campaign here in New Zealand and Australia's Big Bash T20 comp where he represents the Brisbane Heat as an overseas player.
We chatted to Dan at the Mount yesterday about the logistics of playing in two countries at once, why Aussie really is the lucky country in cricket, Scotty Styris's tough entrée to HRV Cup captaincy and the Blackcaps' upcoming National Bank test series with Zimbabwe and South Africa.
PS, here's one for the boffins - the top three New Zealanders in the world's list of Twenty20 career wicket-takers are all from the Yahoo!NZ Northern Knights! Dan's got the NZ record on 92, Scott Styris is on 88 and Tim Southee is on 82. I reckon Tim's got a great show of knocking off the all-countries record of 167 wickets held by Australia's 35-year-old Dirk Nannes in the future.
