Preparing for Christchurch

As we embark on our trip to Christchurch we have prepared as best as we can for the next two rounds of the Domestic competition. 8 of our players have been away at the National Under 21 Tournament leading up to Christmas playing a week of cricket where they finished a very credible 2nd place:

Rhiana Vincent
Felicity Leydon Davis
Heidi Arndt
Brooke Kirkbride
Caitlin Dodunski
Jordy Hardacre
Katie Johnson
Jacinta Coleman

There were a number of highlights from the tournament with some great individual successes. J (Jacinta Coleman) joins the team after some solid performances and the Spirit girls really showing their dominance at this level. Katie “2 hands on the milk” Johnson scoring 100 not out in a Twenty20 and a solid 63 on opening day. Jordy " hardcore" Hardacre, Heidi "mmm sensational" Arndt and Caits Dodunski all falling short of half centuries, Reej scoring two 53no's. Floss scoring a few quick fire 30s and regularly taking wickets and Brooka continually restricting the runs. And let's not forget Northern Districts dominating the beep test!!! Another big highlight from the tournament was Floss winning the Trish McKilvey Trophy for player of the tournament.

No doubt the girls that were back home put in some quality trainings to ensure they are prepared. 8 days at Lincoln University it is for us! First up taking on the Otago Sparks and then the Canterbury Magicians in the New Year!

Follow our progress on live scoring and come back here for the Legs 11 reports.
